Since teenage acne is mainly due to the increased level of androgen in your body, you have to learn the effects androgen has over your acne condition. To promote growth of your body, your hormonal system releases androgen. Androgen, aside from being a stimuli of growth also has effects on your sebaceous glands under your skin. When sebaceous glands receive react with androgen, they will secrete sebum to remove excessive dead skin cells on your face. Since the amount of androgen is increased, the sebaceous glands release more sebum to your skin. The excessive sebum will create a mild mixture with the dead skin cells, sticky enough to block the pores.
The best way to deal with bacterias is to kill them. Try natural antibiotics such as ginger and garlic. Regular consumption of these natural antibiotics can be very helpful in your acne condition. Topically, you can use tea tree oil and benzoyl peroxide. Most of the time I recommend using tea tree oil only since it is natural and does not cause any side effects.
The redness or hyper-pigmentation is seen as the skin goes through its healing and remodeling process, which takes approximately 6-12 months. If no more acne lesions develop in that area, the skin can heal normally. Any color change or skin defect still present after 1 year is considered to be a permanent defect or scar.
